Youthful Talent Shines: Brazil, Germany, Hungary, and USA Teams Excel in U21 Beach Volleyball Qualifiers

Four rising women's teams from Brazil, Germany, Hungary, and the United States have successfully advanced to the main draw of the 2025 FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships, showcasing their resilience and preparation during intense qualifying matches held in Puebla, Mexico.

Brazil's Marcela Barbosa and Maria Clara showed impressive endurance, bouncing back from a first-set loss to defeat Germany’s Kaya Müller and Josepha Bock in a dramatic three-set match (20-22, 21-13, 16-14).

Germany secured a second team in the main draw with Clara Dressen and Mila Jancar. Their path was marked by two straight-set victories:

  • Against Japan’s Niko Morikawa and Waka Yada (21-16, 21-16)
  • Versus Mexico’s Alexa Bucio and Ashley Silva (21-16, 21-13)

From Hungary, Chiara Honti-Majoros and Stefania Kun made a swift statement with a dominant match over Latvia’s Deneva Sauberga and Rezija Puskundze, winning in just 27 minutes (21-6, 21-15).

The United States duo of Sally Perez, a U19 World Championship bronze medalist, and Avery Jackson also turned heads. Their qualification run included:

  1. A tight win against Finland’s Milja Henriksson and Ester Hirvonen (22-20, 21-17)
  2. A confident match against Czechia’s Lucie Knoblochova and Adela Petrikova (21-13, 21-17)

These young athletes now advance to the main draw, where they will compete with a diverse field of international talent all aiming for the U21 crown. The competition, kicking off Thursday, is a pivotal event in the FIVB calendar, emphasizing the global growth and youthful energy of beach volleyball.
