Thamela Coradelo and Victoria Lopes demonstrated resilience by overcoming American Olympians Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher in a thrilling three-set match (15-21, 21-19, 15-13). Their next challenge awaits in the form of Austria’s Ronja and Dorina Klinger.
Another Brazilian team, Vitória Rodrigues and Hegeile "Hegê" Almeida, achieved a commanding straight-set win (33-31, 21-13) against Germany’s Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann. This impressive result came against the reigning European champions and the world’s third-ranked team. Next, they face Canada's Olympic silver medalists Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes.
With all three Brazilian teams still in contention, Brazil is a serious title contender in this prestigious international event.
The United States also saw notable performances:
- Kelly Cheng and Molly Shaw defeated Czech players Marketa Svozilova and Marie-Sara Stochlova.
- Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft advanced after overcoming compatriots Kimberly Hildreth and Keegan Van Gunst.
- However, Julia Scoles and Lexy Denaburg were eliminated by Swiss sisters Anouk and Zoé Vergé-Dépré.
In addition to Brazil and the USA, these teams will also compete in the Round of 12:
