Austrian sisters Dorina and Ronja Klinger have made history by reaching the Elite16 semifinals for the first time at the 2025 Ostrava Beach Pro Tour. After falling short in three previous quarterfinal appearances, their persistence has paid off on the Czech sand.
Set against the dramatic industrial landscape of Lower Vítkovice, the Klinger sisters bounced back from an earlier loss to secure a confident straight-sets win in the quarterfinals (21-19, 21-18) against Team USA’s Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft. Despite a prior tiebreaker defeat to Brazil’s Thamela Coradelo and Victoria Lopes, they advanced as one of the best-performing teams with a loss in the Round of 12.
The Austrian duo now faces a semifinal rematch against top-ranked Thamela and Victoria, who have already reached five semifinals in just eight tournaments together—an impressive show of consistency and dominance on the tour.
On the opposite side of the bracket:
- Swiss sisters Zoé and Anouk Vergé-Dépré also reached their first Elite16 semifinal together.
