Taylor and Trevor Crabb have advanced to the Round of 12 at the Itapema Elite16 Beach Pro Tour event after a determined comeback victory in Brazil. The American brothers triumphed over Austria’s Christoph Dressler and Mathias Seiser in a 2-1 battle (17-21, 21-18, 15-13), showcasing their resilience on the sand.
This marks just their second appearance in the 2025 Beach Pro Tour season. Finishing second in Pool C earned them a spot in the Round of 18, where their victory secured a high-stakes clash against local favorites André Loyola and Renato Lima in the next round. The Brazilian duo, featuring a former world champion and a 2022 World Championship medalist, remain undefeated in the tournament.
The Itapema Elite16, hosted at Meia Praia Beach, brings together the world’s elite beach volleyball teams in pursuit of critical ranking points and podium finishes. The upcoming schedule includes:
- Saturday: Round of 12 and Quarterfinal matches
- Sunday: Semifinal and Medal matches
Brazilian teams enjoyed strong performances in the Round of 18, with three squads moving forward, including Olympic veterans Evandro Gonçalves and Arthur Lanci. Latvia’s Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots, reigning European champions, also secured their advancement.
With fierce competition still coming from teams representing Czechia, France, Italy, and Argentina, the weekend promises to be packed with high-energy action and world-class beach volleyball.
