Nigeria and Morocco Secure Spots for LA28 Olympics in Beach Volleyball

Nigeria and Morocco have successfully secured their spots for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics in the beach volleyball category. Their achievements come on the heels of impressive performances at the 2026 CAVB African Beach Volleyball Championships.

For Nigeria, Esther Onyinye Mbah and Pamela Miyoum Bawa led their team to victory in the women's title, defeating Morocco's Alexandra Erhart and Nora Nezha Jihane Darrhar in straight sets. This significant win marks their first African senior title as a team.

In the men's category, Morocco's Zouheir Elgraoui and Soufiane El Gharouti claimed victory by overcoming Algeria's Kallouche Mohamed-Islem and Ayyoub Dekkiche. This win continues Morocco's dominance with their fourth consecutive African men's title.

These victories ensure that both Nigeria and Morocco have quota spots for their National Olympic Committees, which enables their participation in the beach volleyball event at the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics. This achievement is a substantial milestone for the sports programs of both countries, as they prepare to demonstrate their talents on the international stage at LA28.
